cute story of the day:
so my godmother has an 8 y/o son who we’ll call Max for this post. like most 8 y/o, he has heard a lot about fortnite. However, his mum doesn’t want him to play because it’s too violent for his age (tbh, I agree) and also bc they’re not allowed a lot of computer/gaming time a day.
so the other day, he invited some of his friends at home and they’re all playing Legos. I’m drinking tea in the living room when he comes up to me and ask me for help for a game. I follow him to his room and there he hands me a dozen of lego guns? so I’m like wtf
but then he explains that he and his friends are playing a live version of fortnite and that he needs me to hide the weapons all over the room so the little Lego characters can run around, “land” and try to find them
idk it’s really so cute to me? that’s such a creative idea and a good way for him to relate to the trend without disobeying his mum, and while being more active and building his own world? idk I just love it
also, side note : when these strategy battle games became really popular, his parents helped him and his brother build a board game version of it so they could play without losing their screen time
