it’s not talked about much, but it’s actually pretty common among people with depression, in my experience at least.
basically it’s when you try to hurt yourself, but instead of doing it physically you do it to your mind. for example, reading something even though you know it’s gonna be triggering for you, insult yourself, or try and form unhealthy relationships that you know are bad for you. just examples of course, there are many many forms of emotional self harm
it’s not any less damaging or a serious issue than physical self harm. if you think you are doing it, then you might need to seek help. if therapy isn’t something you can get right now, i’ll recommend the website/app 7 Cups!
