what if same sex marriage wasn’t allowed in the wizarding world

what if remus and sirius always knew they could never get married like james and lily. and they would pretend it’s all cool but secretely be super disappointed. so one day in seventh year james would get mad and fuck this bullshit they would organize a wedding with rings and peter would be officing, obviously james is sirius’s best man and lily is remus’s. they invite all their friends, and throw the best party hogwarts ever saw and will ever see. remus and sirius were smiling and laughing and blushing. thousands of picture were taken. james and lily had to dance together bc tradition, and there was a lot of blushing here too.

and at the end of the party, as sirius was walking to the kitchen to get remus some chocolate as the lovely husband he was, he crossed regulus.

and even if he couldn’t be sure, he thought he heard him wispering “congratulations”

all the marauders are trans.

  • remus figured out it was time he told his friends.
  • after all, they had been completly acceptant about his lycanthropy when they had found out one year ago, so why not about that ?
  • so he decided he would tell them, and he felt confident about their reactions.
  • it happened friday evening, and they were working on the map, when he cleared his throat and asked them if they could listen to him for a second.
  • the marauders shifted in “confidence position”, which meant all sitted on the bed of the one who wanted to talk, james holding him by the shoulder.
  • he started to be very nervous, but when he saw sirius comforting grin, he started to talk :
  • “guys, i know it probobly doesn’t matter to you all, but i wanted you to know that i’m transgender.”
  • he feeled better as soon as he said it. but as he glanced at the marauders, he realized they are all frozen in shock and his enthiusiasm dies in his stomach.
  • no one says anything for a minute, and remus breaks down and starts to ask them why they aren’t saying anything and if they hate for this, because if he is not at all insecure about it he is afraid his friends will throw him out of the dorm.
  • but james laughes a bit and says “no, moony, i’m sorry, sorry if we scared you. it’s just that…”
  • and he hugs remus very hard and announce “i’m trans too.”
  • and remus just stares at him and he is too surprised to do anything so he just hugs him back and laughes a bit because what the hell is this coincidence ?
  • but they are interrumpted by peter who whispered “you gotta be kidding me…”
  • and james turns to him and asks him if anything’s wrong with that, slightly aggresive. but peter just opens his mouth and shouts “me. fucking. too.”
  • and this time they all burst out lauging because this is crazy, but so cool.
  • so james turns to sirius and says “look at that, sirius, you’re the only cis in the room.”
  • and sirius blushes and mumbles “well… actually…” and he joins what will be remembered as the Super Trans Hug of Third Year
  • so the marauders are officially all trans, and you can’t expect them to just ignore this.
  • first, there are the puns.
  • a monday night in the dorm : “remus can you help me with my trans-figuration homeworks ?” “sorry pete i already have a trans-lation to do in ancient runes” “any one can name me three muggles means of trans-port ? it’s for muggles studies”
  • and those are the good ones
  • because everytime james is back from quidditch practice, he is greeted by “go take a shower, james, you smell like trans-piration !”
  • and of course it doesn’t stop with the puns.
  • that won’t be very marauder.
  • that means that when lily told james not to be a dick, sirius bursted in from nowhere and exclaimed “oh honey i can assure you there is no dick here”
  • and then walk around the castle with james yelling that no one here’s a dick
  • he still refers to it sometimes. he is way too proud of it, according to remus.
  • but of course trans marauders also mean that there will be a “punishment prank” everytime a pure blood will use sirius’s dead name or the wrong pronouns
  • but only after a Special Night Of Comfort Against Dysphoria, involving hot chocolate and stupid games and embarassing stories and soppy comfort lines.
  • it’s during those nights they practiced binding charms together and learned how to prepare an hormonal potion
  • and they always little references to their transgenderism in public, but noboby understands what they mean and is very confused
  • for example : there is a reason the marauders started to call sirius “pads” and it’s not the short for “padfoot”
  • basically trans marauders being super supportive of each other and really cute.

imagine remus lupin waking up from what is just another full moon at hogwarts with his friends. except it doesn’t feel like any other full moon.

the first thing he notices is that there are more scratches and scars that there never was. even the night he was alone at home.

the second thing he notices is that his friends aren’t all around his bed. one of them is missing, and the other two are too quiet.

the third thing he notices is the painful, pitying looks on their face, and the hands on the rare inches of his skin that aren’t scarred.

the fourth thing he notices is how james is opening his mouth but isn’t speaking, like he was looking for his words. and james potter never thinks before to talk, he says the first thing which comes to his mind and this is more worrying than anything else.

the fifth thing he notices is the wounds on his friend’s arm, and they look just like claw’s marks and he panics because what have i done and he has all these thoughts about the million of possible scenarios of what might have happen and he thinks that maybe he hurted sirius too and that’s why he isn’t there.

the sixth thing he notices is that james is speaking, but in his panic he hadn’t heard a word of it.

the seventh thing he notices are the words james is slowly repeating or him, and he understands that severus had done something and sirius had told him something, and he hears that no one is hurt and that it wasn’t his fault.

the eighth thing he notices is the way peter looks at him, full of compassion, as he asks james to just say it.

the ninth thing he notices is the long sufferering sigh james has before to finally say the words.

the tenth thing he notices is the cold wet trail on his cheeks, even if he haven’t processed the news already.

the eleventh thing he notices is his own screams, as he yells at james that he won’t do that, you’re lying, where is he, there must be a misunderstanding, james tell me the truth, please, please

the twelth thing he notices is that his screams don’t make sense anymore and that he’s sobbing uncontrollably and the weight of the world is on his shoulders again and it fucking hurts.

the thirteenth thing he notices is that peter and james’s arms are around him and he feels awful and he’s back at the st mungo’s hospital bed where he learned that he was now a monster and that he thought his dad would abandon him, and he just cries all he can because there is nothing else to do.

the one thing he doesn’t notice is the boy who’s on the other side of the wooden door and who wants nothing else but to go in but he knows james would fucking kill him if he dared, so he just waits outside even if there’s nothing to wait for.

the marauders’ favorite clothes

obviously sirius’ is his leather jacket. i really like the hc that it was remus who bought him for his birthday, but that’s not the only reason. it’s the very solid proof of his punkrockness and rebellion. he would have tons of pins, from bands and against discrimination ( not only blood predjudices but also sexism, homophobia, racism, etc… ). once james spilled his pumpkin juice on it and sirius fucking cried.

remus’s is not ( surprise ! ) a jumper. it’s his old gryffindor scarf. of course the guys call him a nerd when he says that, but it’s true. it’s the symbol of his humanity. it’s a normal item, that everyone has, and therefore makes him feel normal. it’s also the reminder that despite the discriminative laws, he was able to go to hogwarts and find friends.

peter’s is his acdc’s tshirt that he got at a concert he went with sirius. neither james nor remus could go so they had a good time together, and peter didn’t feel like he was less of a marauder than the others.

and james’s is, of fucking course, his quidditch uniform. he secretely wears it on weekend, when no one is watching. in seventh year, he learns that lily secretely loves it too and he starts wearing it just for her.

okay but imagine the marauders and lily casually chatting in year 6 and at some point sirius makes a sex joke, and lily complains that he’s “too much of a perv to date poor innocent remus” and sirius just burst of laughing and rolls under the table and holds his ribs and moony is blushing a bit but really he’s laughing too.

and that’s how everyone discovered remus’ true nature.

headcanon that when sirius started to make up, he tried to convince the other marauders to try it to.

so peter didn’t really like the feeling of having something on his face. so he doesn’t do it usually, but if sirius wants to test something he will be willing to be the victim. also dark lipstick suits him quite well.

remus isn’t a great fan of make-up, and he won’t ever wear some on a normal day, but for parties and important occasions he likes to borrow some of his boyfriend’s stuffs and have fun ( sirius is really really appreciative of that and sometimes throws off parties just to see how pretty his moony is ). what suits remus the most is pale natural eyeshadow bc he has the prettiest eyes.

and james. james is so in love with make-up. he loves to have colours on his face and painted nails. he also completely sucks at it so sirius has to do it for him. when they do it, they sit on sirius’s bed and giggle while talking about their crush.

about the lupins

first of all : lyall and hope lupin are the most loving couple in the world. i think most of wizard/muggle couples are because they were trusting enough to tell them the truth, but hope and lyall are particularly close. they trust each other and forgive each other. they are just perfect for eachother and every one knows it as soon as they see them together. they share a sweet and soft love that nothing could ever bring down.

about remus : before he was bitten, he was closer from his father than his mother. he was very close of hope too, but his dad was his personnal hero, the man he would dream to become one day. they have many things in common and share a lot of stuffs, even though lyall is often at work.

but after the attack, things change. remus doesn’t know the circumstances of the bite yet, so he isn’t mad at lyall. but lyall is feeling terribly guilty, he thinks his son is better off without him. the only thing that stopped him from leaving the house was hope, who tried to make him feel like it wasn’t his fault and they still loved him. it still takes years for him to get close to remus again, but their relationship is changed forever. he loves his son with all his heart, but he hates himself.

so remus gets step by step closer to his mum. since she’s a muggle, she doesn’t have the same predjudices against werewolves than wizard. because she started to believe in magic so oh sure, she can believe that werewolves are nice most of the time. and since remus can’t do loud games outside with his friends anymore, he starts to appreciate his mother’s quiet presence. she’s the one that introduces him to books, and shows him all her favorite movies. she is the first to call him “professor lupin” because he always tries to teach her things he read ( most of the time she already knows them but she plays along and pretends ). the two of them are as close as a child and his parent can be.

remus cannot even understands the concept of parents not loving their child with all their hearts.
