I have this headcanon that at some point in hogwarts ( year five or something ) remus and sirius just knew eachother’s feelings and had an unspoken arrangement not to do anything about it for all the usual reasons ( insecurities, fear for their friendship… ) but at some point during year 6 they couldn’t do it anymore and they finally got together. for the same reasons than above they didn’t tell the others about it and kept it a secret. and then the prank happened and as remus is being comforted by james and peter he tells them that they were in a relationship. suddently james and peter understand how much remus trusted padfoot and how much the prank hurted him.

when remus forgave sirius, he kissed him in the middle of the great hall.

just imagine

it’s year six for the marauders and moony and padfoot are FINALLY together and all hogwarts is glad that all this sexual tension is resolved.

so they are so lovey dovey that everyone in the castle know about their relationship.

including the slytherins.

including regulus black.

so one day remus is just walking to classes and then the next thing he knows he is being pushed against the wall and threatened with a wand by regulus black.

his first reaction is panic because he knows the black aren’t exactly lgbt+ friendly. but he manages to stay calm and think of a way to get out of this shit.

so he opens his mouth to try to buy time, but before he can regulus is talking.

“listen, i’m not here to hurt you. not unless i have to. but you have to listen to me right now bc i won’t say it twice.’

and then, with a completely straight face, he starts to give remus the "hurt my brother and i will kill you” speech.

just think about how it would be both easy and really tough to break sirius and remus’s couple.

they were both really insecure due to their pasts. i read fics where remus would think sirius was only with him as an act of rebellion toward his family, and fics where sirius thought remus was with him because no one else would fall in love with a werewolf.

and yet they knew they could trust the other one. and that’s beautiful. and now i’m crying bye.

here’s the thing kiddos.

sirius and remus almost never fight. most of the time it’s all fun and fluff ( and sex ) and everyone is really happy.

but when they DO fight. run. run for your life. there are insults that are meant to hurt, often related to lycanthropy/family, no physical harm but pretty damn close. it’s not talking to eachother for a week. it’s wanting revenge.

it’s the Prank on snape.

it’s thinking the other is a traitor during the war.

because remus and sirius put so much faith in the other one that when something goes wrong they just can’t stand it.

and their own insecurities stop them from apologizing and dealing with the matter like adults.

so here it is. wolfstar has the worst fights of all the ships bc they are both fucked up and sometimes they just can’t do it anymore.

the marauders’s favorite tv shows

remus : okay he’s a superwholock kind of guy and we all know it. he communicates via obscure references and gets mad when people don’t get them. he is super fan of complex scenarios and once managed to solve a mystery from sherlock. bc we all know he’s a nerd.

sirius : he likes supernatural and loves to watch it with his moony. he not-so-secretely adore friends ( fight me on this ) and his fav is joey. he watches loads of sitcoms and is actually the biggest shipper on earth. he also cries whenever something even slightly sad happens.

james : of course james is all about detective shows. the ones he likes are for the biggest part pretty bad and the marauders always make fun of it. his fav show is x files though.

lily : she loves simple comedy stuffs like the simpsons. she enjoys a most serious show once in a while but her heart belongs with these. her only exception is orange is the new black.

peter : peter has terrible taste since he is a terrible person. we don’t talk about him.

i saw a post complaining that sirius black was always portrayed as an overexcited 12 years old girl when he was at hogwarts, but i feel like it makes perfect sense with his past.

he was never allowed to have fun and do what he wanted at his home. when he was sorted in gryffindor, he was more free that he ever been. i think he would want to enjoy this freedom and do whatever he wants, and that includes acting like a child sometimes since he never got the chance to be one before.

also this could be his way to hide the abusive behaviour of his parents to his friends. maybe he even tried to copy the behaviour of james, the “happy and normal kid” in the group. this attitude could be both his way to hide and to heal his problems.

and when he acted like his dark and depressed self, it was usually because he couldn’t pretend anymore. it was the moments he both needed and rejected his friends.

and that is what we clearly see in the ootp : he can act like a child or a teen, mistaking harry for james, insulting him “you’re not as much like your father than i thought” ( approximative quote ).

my point is that he wasn’t a child : he had a serious bipolar disorder and his childish behaviour occured during his manic phases, leading him to be careless and make impulsive decisions.

( please keep in mind that i am not a psychiatrist and do not experience bipolar disorder. if i said anything offensive, please message me and will immediatly correct it )

in sixth year, sirius and remus’s favorite passtime was to make james and peter uncomfortable.
they just love to see their friends embarassed.
so obviously it all starts with sex jokes
even if they aren’t there yet
so when james innocently say that a question for a potion homework is “a really hard one”
remus grins and winks at his boyfriend,and add “yeah, you’re not the first one to say that today.”
and sirius is half laughing half trying to hide himself under the table because “gosh moony, you were suppose to be the cute and awkward one in this relationship”
but the jokes go on and soon all hogwarts has a list of forbidden words
their other fav way to embarass everyone is too always pretend they were about to shag when someone enter a room they were in
even if really they were just innocently chatting
they even hide in broom cupboards waiting for people to come in
now everyone knock before to get in the dorms/bathrooms/classrooms/offices and yeah, even the cupboards
(which padfoot and moony will be very grateful for when they will really have sex )
but they soon realize that it isn’t the best way to embarass everyone
because everyone hate to see a couple getting all soppy
and the Nicknames Era had begun
“love” and “sweetie” clearly weren’t enough for marauders
“sweet ray of sunshine”, “thief of my heart”, “light in the darkness” neither
so you could hear in the middle of the common room
“you are the knife to my fork” “your eyes shine more than dumbledore’s beard” “you’re sweeter than chocolate” ( “cAlm DOwN HeRE pADFoOt YoU DOn’t JOKe wITh CHOcOLate” )
and they say it with the most serious look so no one knew if they were kidding or not
( which was the perfect cover for the soppiest couple ever )
basically james and peter feared every moment they would be with the two of them
( and james planned his revenge for when he will finally be dating lily )

BONUS ANGST

after the prank, it took months to remus to finally call sirius with his petnames
and sirius died a little everytime remus would call by his name
and he cried a little when remus called him “love” again

imagine if the full moon happened on september the first the year remus lupin went to hogwarts. despite all the healing charms, he can’t take the train and have to go the day after with floo powder. he is sorted alone in dumbledore ’s office and no one applauses when the hat announces his house. he joins a dorm where three strangers are already settled in. they are asking questions, and even though the nurse is here and they have planned an excuse, they already know something is different with him. he expects them to stay away from the weird kid.

but instead, they try to make him feel comfortable, ask if he is okay with the bed that’s left or if he wants to switch and offer him sweets. they tell him the dumbest jokes and he laughs so much he forgets why he felt bad.

and for the first time since the attack, remus lupin has friends.

trans!remus is so great because imagine the marauders :

remus : *suffers*
sirius : what’s wrong moony ?
remus : it’s almost that time of the month again
james : wait.
peter : which one ?
remus : …
remus : the one with blood and destruction.
marauders : ah right.
sirius *whispers* : so which one ?
