i was admiring my marauder’s map poster when i realized something.

a lot of people mentionned that they have to had great charms skill to make the maps, and a few also pointed out that they were also great artist ( bc let’s face it the map is the most aesthetic thing in hp ).

but there is actually a great amount of text in latin at the bottom of the cover. the main sentence that is always repeated is “maraudere est audere”. audere means to dare. i haven’t translated the rest of the text bc i’m lazy but these nerds actually wrote a text in latin about themselves and then translated it in LATIN just to show up.

and now we have to ask which one of them took time to translate a text in latin and then write it aestetically ( is that even a word ) and they weren’t even sure someone will actually read it someday.

i’m probably not the first to think about it but i never saw any post about it ? and now i really wanna know what’s written ????
