Harry chewed on his lower lip nervously as Sirius and Remus settled on the sofa across from him. He was relieved to see that Sirius looked relaxed today as leaned back and draped his arm along the back of the couch.
“Thanks for the tea,” Harry said quietly. He looked down into his cup for a moment. “The thing is… The reason why I wanted to talk to you…”
He took a deep breath. “It’s about the other Hogwarts Champion. Cedric Diggory. I know I mentioned having girl problems before, but, er, it turns out that it might not just be girl problems after all.”
Harry’s gaze darted upwards. He was surprised to find Sirius’ face contorted into a smothered grin. Harry frowned. “Are you alright?”
Remus elbowed Sirius sharply in the ribs. “”Oi!” Sirius winced and poked Remus in the side. “Stop that, Moony.” He turned to Harry and smiled. “Sorry about that. Just a bit odd, having this conversation all over again.”
“What?” Harry’s brow furrowed in confusion. “You knew I was… But I didn’t say anything!”
“What Sirius means,” Remus said kindly, “is that we’ve had this conversation before, many years ago. With your father.”
“He swore a bit more,” Sirius said, “but it was essentially the same idea.”
Harry’s jaw dropped. “My dad was… Really?”
Remus nodded solemnly. “In seventh year, your parents were the bicon power couple of Gryffindor. I think James might have charmed that on the plaque underneath their Head Boy and Girl photo in the Great Hall, actually.”
“Lily did it,” Sirius corrected. He turned to Harry and smiled. Harry noticed as Sirius rested his hand on Remus’ knee and gave it a squeeze. Remus covered Sirius’ hand with his own and laced their fingers together.
“They’d be proud of you,” Sirius said, quiet but firm. “Same as Moony and I are. No matter what.”
