harry gets lots of offers from historians, journalists – just about anyone willing to pick up a quill tbh – but the only authorised biography that gets published in his lifetime is co-written by luna lovegood and lee jordan. part graphic novel (images courtesy of dean thomas), part choose your own adventure, and roughly 80% quibbler-esque misinformation, it is common knowledge that if you want an autograph, the only paper he’ll sign is that book.
One exception: he always signs chocolate frog cards when kids ask him. He never passes up a chance to do something nice for kids who look up to him, because you can never be sure that you’re not the first person to do something nice for that kid.
Canon accepted and retroactively applied. ❤
It literally never occured to me that this headcanon could get even better. ❤❤
Lying Remus
So people say Remus was a terrible liar since he flung his suitcase across the room when Harry asked him if he knew Sirius.
But also say he was a great liar because he lied to Snape’s face when Harry was caught with the Map he helped to create.
So he must be terrible at lying to his friends and family but excellent at lying to literally anyone else.
Then imagine the Marauders refusing to let him explain why they’re out of bed because “No offense Rem, but you told us three consecutive full moons that your mom was ill. No one believes that.” “I was eleven!!” “Yeah, still.”
Then the time comes when they run out of excuses and Remus just steps forward and the others are like “Well we’re doomed.”
But Remus comes up with a flawless lie that not only gets all of them out of trouble, but leaves the others gaping at him, forgetting to speak for a few seconds out of shock.

Masks. They were all there ever were to see. Remus Lupin was a man of secrets, and every single one of them piled up until the blur that was his truth lied invisible to everyone, even Remus himself.
“You hide in jokes and sarcasm, but I can see how broken you are.” Sirius’ voice felt soft and secure, but Remus knew the words meant threat. No one could see what was in between those masks, those thousands of lies that protected him.
“You can lie to yourself, but you can’t lie to me.” The softness, again. Remus’ firm faith in his parents’ advice to never let others know faltered. Sirius’ voice was intoxicating, like a poison running through the cracks in his shield of acting and lying and pretending.
After all, he didn’t even know who was this “him” he wanted to protect.
22. “How long do we have?” because I can see this going in so many different directions and I’m curious to see which direction you take it.

Sirius gently pressed Remus’ hand. “How long do we have?”
“He’ll be back in half an hour.” Remus’ voice was determined and firm. “And he’ll probably be in a bad mood, so let’s make the most of it.”
Sirius nodded, and quickly wrapped his arms around Remus’ waist. He brought their lips together, and soon their kiss became more heated. They moved to the bedroom, knowing full well they would have to rush every caress, every word and sound, every gesture of love, for their love lived on borrowed time, and being caught would result in death.
They were aware that the oh-so-short timeframes which restricted their growing, blossoming love would soon left them feeling claustrophobic, but despair can lead a man to the less wise decisions. For now, their passion would take over the oppresive weight of their daily life, and every touch would break them free.

Regulus streched his sore muscles, smiling as the sun rays hit his face. Yesterday’s trip in the woods to collect more potion ingredients had left him quite tired and achy, as his body wasn’t as lean and fit as it once were, in his youth.
“Morning honey!” James pushed the door and gently put down a breakfast tray on the the bed. He leaned forward and kissed his husband on the nose. “I went to buy you that pie from next door’s baker you like. Thought about cooking you something myself, but I predicted you wouldn’t feel like eating burnt toast after the day you had yesterday.”
Regulus smiled, lids still only half opened. “You’re too good for this world, you know that?”
James laughed soundly. “I dare you to say that to literally anyone who knows me. I think Lily might actually try to check for confusion spells.”
“She’s just jealous because she knows if she had dated you in Hogwarts, she’ll be waking up to a fabulous breakfast too. Now shut up and kiss me.”
James happily obliged.

Sirius clenched his fist tighter around the bottle in his hand. Tears were gathering in his eyes. He wasn’t certain if he should scream or sob.
“Please don’t leave me…” His voice was trembling, either with fury or tears. He wished for fury.
Remus averted his eyes. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, my love, I hate this as much as you do, but I have no choice, Dumbledore needs me to talk to the packs and…”
The name felt like a sudden trigger, unleashing all of his rage.
“Screw Dumbledore!” he yelled. “We don’t own him shit. He’s the one who locked me away in that god awful house that I hate, he’s the one who sent Harry away, he’s the one who forced you to go back with Greyback even after everything he did to you!” A sob escaped, but once again his anger overtook and he yelled again. “And yet you’re still following him around, obeying him like you’re his good pet werewolf! You abandon me every fucking time he asks you to, because you’re a fucking traitor, Remus!”
He was immediately silenced by the weight of the word that he had dared to use. Remus turned his back on him and walked to the door.
“You’re drunk, Sirius. I’ll be back in three days if nothing goes wrong. No owls.” And with that, he went away.
lavender brown gets more hate for how she handles unrequited romantic feelings than snape does and that is incredibly disturbing
