We’d all like to think we’ll be as brave and loyal as Sirius or Lupin when the time came but if the stakes were real, if you were on a murdering psycho’s radar, who knows how you’d react. Peter giving up Lily and James to save himself isn’t some confusing, unbelievable or unrealistic thing. I’d say it’s even kind of understandable.
