Kind of friendly (but also really salty) reminder that it’s okay to write characters differently in fanfiction than they are in canon. The literal point of fanfiction is that it is fiction (so like…it’s not real. this includes being in relation to the canon.) that is created. by. fans.
That’s it.
If you feel that someone can be interpreted a different way than the mainstream idea, then go for it (as long as it’s not offensive or hateful, of course.) You’re allowed to. It’s your prerogative as a fanfiction writer. If other people don’t like it, that’s not your problem; tell them to buzz off and read someone else’s work.
