Hi there, thanks for the ask! Please don’t perish on me, I need your awesome content on my dash ❤
The Palo Alto house is small, since NorCal crams as many houses onto each block as possible and then charges you a blood sacrifice each month to live there. Living room, kitchen, three bedrooms, two bathrooms. There’s a little pool in the backyard and a high fence for the illusion of privacy when the houses are so close you could high five your neighbor through your bathroom windows.
The front door opens into the living room, which is dominated by the biggest TV that could fit through the door, a sick sound system, and every gaming console imaginable. Sirius’ art is on the walls, along with shitty crayon drawings that James creates and frames with great fanfare. There’s a bookshelf in the corner stuffed with old text books, copies of the Economist, and an assortment of random shit that Remus picks up in used book stores. The coffee table is usually covered in some sort of electronic thingy that James or Sirius is in the process of messing around with. Peter’s couch is the ugliest plaid monstrosity ever that they dragged in from the street corner when they moved in, but it’s comfy as hell, so it stays. At least 46% of the stuff in the house is branded shit that they got for free from their fellow startups and tech companies.
To the left is a hallway with a bathroom, James’ room, and Remus’ room. James’ walls are covered in posters of various athletes and Bollywood films, and there are concert tickets and photobooth photo strips jammed into the sides of his mirror. James will leave his shit all over the common areas, but when it comes to his own room, he’s got a ton of organizational systems and keeps things pretty neat and clean.
Remus’ room still has boxes that he hasn’t unpacked since he moved in. He doesn’t have any permanent decorations on the walls, even though he’s lived there for five years. He’s got a life size cardboard cutout of Iron Man in the corner that was jacked from the theatre when the Marauders went to see Iron Man 3. There are no less than five hoodies draped around the room at any given time.
To the right of the living room is the master bedroom and bathroom (which has access from the bedroom and the hallway). Sirius arm wrestled James for the master when they moved in, and won. Sirius’ bed is perpetually unmade. His clothes are stashed in laundry baskets around the room since his closet is overflowing with art supplies. He’s got a series of chain locks and deadbolts installed on the door to stave off pranking attempts. He doesn’t have any of his own art on the walls (he prefers to give it away rather than keep it) but he does have two of James’ stick figure scribbles and pictures of the Marauders at BFD each year framed and hanging on his wall.
i love thiiiis thank you, you saved my life
