you have probably guessed it by now : jegulus is a crackship. it isnt based on canon at all ( fun fact : i used to call ships that were based on canon, like wolfstar or drarry, semi canon ships ).
mainly it’s because james’ loyalty and love for his friends would balance wonderfully with regulus’ introvertion and shyness. james would help regulus change his black’s manners and show him what affection and love can look like.
also because james being in love with the slytherin seeker and his best friend’s little brother is a perfect fanfiction basis with loads of possibilities : imagine all the fun !
and finally : sirius’ reaction to their relationship would be hilarious.

we are titanic, we are DEFINITELY going down with this ship
I love them because of their dynamic as well and I call them James I-need-to-save-everything-and-everyone Potter and Regulus I-definitely-need-saving Black.
They just– they fit, okay? They fit like crooked puzzle pieces and it’s beautiful to write about Regulus finding peace in someone and feeling safe but it’s also terrifyingly beautiful to write about their heart breaks and it gives Regulus more depth because “the cave” stops defining him. You see him in this relationship and dilemma between his love for James and his fear.
Regulus is such a beautiful character open for billion possibilities and James Potter is the best one in existence in my opinion. It’s like starbucks given their past but Reg and Sirius are COMPLETELY different and it makes this ship magnificently painful and I LIVE for it.
