theorical question : how long could remus have lived ? i mean, at some point his body wouldnt be able to support the change, let alone the wounds.

Sirius would have taken care of him better than he took care of himself. Also he didn’t have transformations anymore because he took the Wolfsbane potion. I mean he did but he just slept through the full moon which means no wounds. So as long as he took the potion he could live a loooong happy life with Sirius, thankyouverymuch.

but also : the transformation in itself. his entire body changes shape and that isnt what a body is meant to do. im pretty sure at some point he just couldnt do that anymore

But magic evolves. It took them a while to get wolfsbane and I’m sure when Kingsley was the Minister he would conduct research and studies to help werewolves and he was succeeded by Hermione so I really do believe with the help of the Ministry, there would be massive progress in werewolf issues.
Before the Second Wizarding War, werewolves were frowned upon by everyone but afterwards Remus was awarded the Order of Merlin, that is a HUGE step and I really do believe because of the fact that people hated werewolves and the Ministry treated them like they treated them like bugs, no one tried helping them. If there was some sort of understanding from the wizards, more people would be willing to help which means more brain power. So Wolfsbane 2.0 could have been made in a shorter period of time than Wolfsbane 1.0 if that makes sense.
