Oh my god. My parents are defending snape after I mentioned I didn’t like him, saying he did what he did our of love, and accused me of having no idea what true love is because I expressed dislike for his character.
Ah yes, holding onto an obsession for a girl that turned you down twenty years ago after calling her a racial slur, that constitutes true love. How silly of me to thin otherwise
I also hate when people say “you don’t know what true love is” just because you haven’t experienced romantic/erotic love.
James Potter truly loved Sirius Black. He loved the way Padfoot slept until noon; he loved that he came to stay for good; he loved him so much he gave him his son. James Potter truly loved Peter Pettigrew. He loved the way Peter always laughed at his jokes, even when they were bad; how Peter buttered everyone’s toast at breakfast for them; how willing Peter was to be the small animal to trigger the Tree. James Potter truly loved Remus Lupin. He loved the way Remus left tea mugs around the dormitory forgotten and cold; he loved how sensitive Remus was about being called ‘Moony;’ he loved how loyal Remus was when he begged him to chat up Lily.
James Potter truly loved his parents. He loved the way his dad ruffled his hair for him growing up, and after he died he started doing it himself, hoping for a little courage. He loved the way his mum believed in him, how she told him he was the best flyer and the smartest student until he became those things because he thought he always was.
Oh and James? He truly loved his son. Until the very end, and even after.
snape hate and peter appreciation, i’m here for this
