I think Dumbledore played his part in the alienation of the Slytherin House. He was a great wizard, yes, but omg he was so careless and biased. By refusing to award Slytherin he blatantly declared Slytherins weren’t worthy of praise and discarded their hard work as futile. Dumbledore set the example and the rest of Hogwarts student body followed him in the disrespect of the Slytherin House. Even the fair McGonagall ended up putting all slytherins in the same bag. Gryffindors act all mighty but at the end, they are just hypocritical, judging slytherins as judgmental narrow-minded bullies when they do the exact same thing they condemn.

OK but can we talk about how the reason Slytherin had all those points so many years in a row is because Severus fucking Snape is totally biased in favour of his own house, and awards them points right, left, and center, while constantly and unfairly taking points from students from all other houses, especially Gryffindor? All the other teachers play fair with the house points, but not him.
