my mum told me something very important today

i am soon going to see a psychiart to determine if i have adhd and i was nervous that the answer would be negative

i told her that if i didnt have adhd, then it meant that i was just stupid and lazy

but she told me “the point of this appointment is not to determine if yes or no you have adhd. it is to see if adhd is the explaination to why so many things, like focus and organization, are impossible for you. if it isnt the answer, then there must be another and we will find it !”

and wow. this is just so important.

for now on, i will try to replace “do i have / am i that ?” with “is that the explaination for this ?”.

and i really feel like it can make a big difference.
