here is an explaination about why i’m worried right now.
if you don’t know, our elections are coming up. the process is simple : we’ve got a dozen of candidates, tomorrow we vote, the two who gets the more votes stay in the game. next week, we vote between these two and the winner becomes president.
the first round is tomorrow. the second one is in a week.
one of the candidates is marine le pen :
i heard a lot of people comparing her to trump, and i have to say it isn’t true. unlike him, she has actual polical ideas and is a serious candidate with actual political experience. she’s also the daughter of another politic who tortured people in algeria. but like trump, she has very islamophobic and xenophobic ideas, and most importantly, a lot of followers. we are all sure she is going to pass tomorrow, and we don’t know if she could get elected president.
the other popular candidates have less dangerous ideas, but we’re not sure they can bring together enough people to block the evil blondie. also i hate many other of these popular candidates, but less than her.
we aren’t sure of anything, many of us are very concerned. as a white native french person, i cannot imagine how terrible it must feel for people who aren’t as privileged than me.
so yeah, this is why i’m low key panicking right now. there’s nothing we can really do, especially since i’m not old enough to vote? but i wanted to rant to get the worry out of my head.
