The whole “Remus and Sirius get Harry joint birthday gifts aww how gay” thing gets a nice little crushing aftertaste when you remember how, in Deathly Hallows, Harry finds a letter Lily wrote to Sirius shortly after Harry’s 1st birthday in which she thanks Sirius – and only Sirius – for the toy broom he got her son, while Remus is not even mentioned once, although Peter is, indicating that at this point 

(1) Sirius and Remus were not at good enough terms to get Harry a birthday present together, and 

(2) that likely, Lily and James weren’t in close contact with Remus anymore, either, which leads us to assume that 

(3) everyone suspected Remus to be the spy, even his boyfriend, and he was desperate and alone, and I’m crying,

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO LIVE WITH THAT ?
