Omg you’re so adorable okay let’s see; so this is an AU where everyone lives and grows old together, Peter is a good friend who never betrayed anyone, and Voldemort was never a thing
bc I’m weak and not a big fan of angst. Aka here comes hella domestic!Wolfstar;
- First thing they do after Hogwarts is find a nice flat, one that’s next to James’s -soon to be James and Lily’s flat-, and move in together. Remus objects at first bc he can’t really afford to pay half of the rent, and only agrees after a month of constant bickering with Sirius and one memorable incident where Sirius turned into Padfoot and gave him the sad puppy dog eyes for a full on 24 hours.
- Sirius insists that Remus can pay him back and start sharing rent the moment he gets a job, but until then Sirius can provide for them
- Remus isn’t very happy about this but he loves Sirius and he needs this to work so he agrees. He also starts looking for jobs immediately
- We know that it’s nearly impossible for werewolves to get or keep a proper job in the wizarding world, and the marauders know this too, so after graduating Hogwarts the group chips in to start a small business together in the muggle world
- Lily claims it’s a stable income and something they can all contribute to, James says it’ll be good for when they have children and need more money, Sirius rants about clever investments for a good fifteen minutes before Remus cracks and asks him to please just stop talking, and Peter is happy to still have his group of friends and wants to help Moony so he won’t object
- Remus knows what they’re actually trying to do and after some lengthy discussions he relents and starts planning things with Lily. He’s very emotional and grateful, and everyone rolls their eyes fondly and tell him they don’t know what he’s thanking them for because “you do realize we’re getting money out of this, Moony?” and Remus just shakes his head and grins
- After much discussion they decide on opening a well sized bookshop (it’s actually Sirius’s idea) that holds reading sessions/classes for kids twice a week in a corner of the shop, and has a hidden section for non-muggles
- The shop is bigger on the inside and the group are so good with charming it that none of the muggles actually notices the fact. It’s just one of those cool seemingly endless bookshops
- Now Remus has a job where he works with family (there are at least two of the marauders there at all times), can take days off as he pleases, and gets to spend his time between books and teach little kids how to read if he isn’t feeling poorly
- Which brings us to wolfstar as two working ‘adults’ in a committed relationship
- Sirius often comes home from his work a couple hours after Remus and his favorite thing to do is to shout “honey I’m home!” at the top of his lungs
- Remus can often be found readying orders for the shop by the window or making tea in their kitchen, and is always ready with an exasperated smile and a sweet kiss for Sirius
- They always have lunch together even if one of them is late, and Sirius often does all the cooking -fight me- while Remus chops stuff and makes clueless remarks just to wind his boyfriend up
- “So is this chopped mint or parsley? Should I just dump it in the bowl?”
- “Moony, are you taking the piss right now?! It’s no time for jokes, Remus, my salad depends on this!”
- Their apartment is a cozy, messy, little haven. There are books everywhere, posters and pictures on every wall, and there’s soft music playing at all times of the day bc Sirius Black can’t think in silence. He’s also prone to throw random, one man dance parties out of the blue and Remus finds it very endearing
- He’s less endeared when Sirius drags him in for a dance and protests loudly and with a lot of creative cursing but Sirius won’t hear of it. They mostly end up shuffling slowly in a small circle, with Remus’s head on Sirius’s shoulder and Sirius occasionally brushing his lips against Remus’s hair.
- “Told you you could dance, Moony.” Sirius grins, and Remus hides his smile with a softly murmured; “Git.”
- They go on coffee dates on weekends and knock their feet together under the table, and sometimes they hold hands when Sirius uses a concealment charm on them
- And omg listen, listen, they wake up together and have coffee in the morning before work and Sirius grumbles about his job like an old man while Remus hums and does the crosswords in the newspaper omg they’re both in their early twenties what is this
- Ahem, so as I was saying; the wizarding world is moving forward and their friends are accepting and loving and no one else matters. Everyone knows that Sirius Black and Remus Lupin are a domesticated, boring, old couple and if you have a problem with that Lily Evans Potter will kick your ass then hex you for good measures
- Remus always wakes up first in the mornings, especially on days nearing the full moon (because he has anxiety and can never sleep properly) but it’s okay because he snuggles closer into Sirius and draws the soft covers around them and remembers that he has a life and a family now and that it’ll all be okay. Sometimes his anxiety gets so bad he leaves the bed not to wake up his boyfriend, but Sirius follows him soon after, makes him a hot drink (hot chocolate if it’s a particularly bad night) then lays on the couch tangled up with him until they both fall back asleep.
- Sirius always kisses Remus’s forehead and plays with his curls when he’s having a bad night
- Remus drops chaste kisses to Sirius’s cheek and brushes Sirius’s hair out of his eyes all the time
- They babysit Harry often and it’s adorable and leads to the funniest scenarios -tho let’s not make this another 1k words longer- and there’s nothing that warms Moony’s heart more than seeing Padfoot cradling Harry in his arms to get him to sleep
- They hug whenever they’re apart for more than four hours, and they touch a lot. Like a lot of casual touching, fingers around wrists, a knuckle brushing against the other’s cheek, hand on the small of Sirius’s back, or Sirius with a fistful of Remus’s sweater.
- They’re so couple-y that James jokingly says “You’re so adorable you’re making me look bad and I’m the married one, Black.”
- Sirius retorts “I’d be married too if it were legal, dickead.”
- James immediately looks sheepish and is preparing to apologize but then Remus turns wide eyes at them and, blushing, stammers out “….what did you just say?”
- Sirius realizes what he said and looks like a deer in headlights but then solders on and states “What you wouldn’t wanna marry me, Lupin?”
- And Remus’s face breaks into a small, if a bit sad, smile and he whispers “Of course I would” and that’s the story of how they get engaged, thanks a lot James.
- They buy rings and wear them on the middle finger of their right hands since they can’t get legally get married yet, although that doesn’t stop them from having a little unofficial wedding ceremony and adding their wedding pictures to the ones hanging on their apartment’s walls
- And that’s how they become a boring old married couple. Incredible!
- Bonus; toddler Harry is the ring bearer at their wedding and he’s in a cute little tux and gets a lot of hugs for his efforts
Aaand I’m gonna stop here before this gets any longer, tho if anyone else wants more wolfstar headcanons please let me know I’ll be happy to oblige.
this is good. yes. happy and married. this is how I like them.
